JUMBO GUESTHOUSE – ON THE MEKONG

Ban Done Kao is a semi-rural village where you can still feel the authentic traditional Lao spirit and see nature all around you.

It’s roughly 15 minutes to the center of town by tuk-tuk or 25 by bicycle on a road with little traffic.

A gated parking area is located in front of the house, where you can safely park your car/motorbike/bicycles. For long term parking of cars/vans/motorbikes, a small fee might apply. If you’d like to rent a scooter, bicycle or electric scooter, we have good contacts in town who can bring the scooter to you and pick it up once you no longer need it.

A Place of Peace

We have 3 comfortable bedrooms (two upstairs with air conditioning and one downstairs with ceiling fan) all of them with simple en suite bathroom with shower, sink and WC. The rooms are cosy and comfy, so you can even spend a day in bed with a good book or watch videos and so on…. If required, extra mattresses can be provided for a third person or toddlers.

There is also a large upstairs veranda and sitting area which provides a perfect place to read and for children to play, or practice yoga and meditation.

The shared living room is an airy, open space for our guests to meet each other, converse and relax. After prior arrangement, guests can warm up small meals in the pantry kitchen in this shared room. WiFi is available throughout the property.

One of the highlights of Jumbo Guesthouse are two scenic terraces partly shaded by trees directly overlooking the river. They are perfect places to practice yoga or meditate. Lush gardens surround the entire property. A delightful place where you can recharge physically & emotionally and get good energy.

During dry season there is a direct access to a sandy beach where people enjoy walking in the shallow part of the Mekong River, just a short walk down the stairs from the living room and terraces.
